Cycling for Creativity 2024 takes Ed from Minneapolis, MN to Rapid City, SD

Despite our most careful planning, the road of life can be unpredictable. After completing a little over 600 miles on his bicycle, our friend Ed Brennan had to cut Cycling for Creativity 2024 short, due to days of inclement weather (with more in the forecast) coupled with a bought of illness. Since 2022, Ed has been going on long distance bicycle rides each summer to raise awareness and funds for our organization. Celebrating Half a Century of Impact at Our Golden Jubilee

Nearly 150 joyful members of the extended Living Resources family filled the hallways, lobbies, art gallery, and cafetorium at our Albany headquarters on Friday, June 21 to raise a glass in celebration of our agency’s 50th Anniversary. For The Golden Jubilee, the office was transformed with gold and black decorations and a fabulous red carpet, ushering guests inside in true VIP style. From Albany, NY to Albany OR: Cycle for Creativity Returns!

It’s a three-peat! Ed Brennan, father of Living Resources family member Kelsey Brennan, has a tradition of raising awareness of, and funds for Living Resources through a self-supported and self-directed, bicycle tour which he calls the #Cycle4Creativity. It began in 2022, with a 1,494-mile journey from Virginia to Florida. In 2023, he created a two-year goal of riding his bicycle from Albany, New York to Albany, Oregon. Anticipation, excitement, and happiness were in full effect among our 18 College Experience (CEP) seniors, all dressed up in their caps and gowns at their graduation ceremony inside Albany’s MVP Arena. Throughout commencement on Saturday, May 11, they participated right alongside their peers at The College of Saint Rose. Each of their achievements in the program led to these moments of celebration. Our seniors learned invaluable skills through their classes and internships, growing more independent with each passing semester. Camaraderie, cuisine, and celebration were found in abundance at our Brain Injury Program’s annual Spring Fling! On Friday, April 26, program participants, staff, and family members gathered at Harmony Hall in Schenectady to spend an elegant evening together. The room was decorated beautifully, music was played, and a full three course dinner was shared among friends, many of whom say the program has become like a second family.
