Living Resources Donate Instructions

Ways to Give

Donations are an essential part of what allows Living Resources to continue to keep our promise of a lifetime commitment to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or brain traumas and their families. The money we receive from donations allows us to continue to provide the best care, services, and programs to you and your loved ones.

There are many different ways you can give to Living Resources to support our mission. Your gift can help support a program of your choice, honor a loved one or friend, give a gift in memory of a special person, and more. View all of the ways you can donate to Living Resources below:

Support the Mission of Living Resources

Unrestricted gifts allow us the flexibility to take advantage of opportunities as they arise which increases the support and services for those served by Living Resources. Gifts of all sizes are greatly appreciated. To make an unrestricted gift, please click the donate button to the right.

Tribute Gifts

Tribute gifts provide an opportunity to honor special occasions while supporting the fine work of Living Resources at the same time. Honor occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, and more. Tribute gifts can also be used to give a special thank you or congratulations. Employer Matching Gifts

Many employers will match their employee’s donation to a not-for-profit organization on a dollar-for-dollar basis. When making a donation, check to see if your employer will match your donation. Contact your Human Resource Department for this information.

Living Resources has a gift matching agreement with GE through their foundation. If you are a GE employee, retiree, or surviving spouse click here or call (800) 305-0669 for more information.

Annual Appeal

The Living Resources Endowment/Legacy Society

Living Resources’ Legacy Society was established to help us keep our promise of a lifetime commitment to individuals with disabilities and their families. As our endowment fund grows, we will be able to use the interest earned to support our essential services and to meet our emerging needs. To learn more about the Legacy Society contact our Associate Executive Director, Communications, Development & Community Engagement, Deneen Palmateer.

Corporate Sponsorship

A corporate sponsorship is an ideal way to get positive exposure for your business or company while at the same time supporting a great cause — Living Resources’ mission to provide life-enhancing services to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or brain traumas and their families. Every year we have two major fundraising events available for corporate sponsorships:

  • The Art of Independence fundraiser is a cocktail reception that features the amazing artistic talents of our supported individuals and also, highlights the road to independence that many of them travel through education and employment. This wonderful event includes food, beverages, fun, raffles, and provides guests with a better understanding of the support we offer and how that makes a difference in the lives of those we serve.
  • Our annual golf tournament draws awareness to our College programs. Our Golf Tournament features a variety of hole-in-one opportunities including the chance to win a car and other cash prizes ($10,000/$5,000). Beverages and food abounds during the tournament beginning with breakfast, moving into beverage tastings and burgers on the course, as well as an afternoon luncheon. Throughout the day, golfers are afforded many opportunities to interact with our students, staff, and families and learn how their experience with Living Resources has lead to a more independent life.

If you would like to be a corporate sponsor of any of our events, Deneen Palmateer, Associate Executive Director of Communications, Development, and Community Engagement, would love to hear from you! Click here to contact.

Appreciated Securities

If you would like to donate to Living Resources and you own appreciated stocks, a very tax efficient way to make the donation is to transfer the stock to Living Resources Foundation. Donors who contribute stocks that they have held for longer than one year and that have increased in value since they were purchased are entitled to claim a federal tax deduction based on the fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift to Living Resources. In addition, by contributing a gift of appreciated securities donors will avoid paying capital gains taxes on the stock that has been donated.
