This month was very special for the Ulster County Day Community Opportunities Program (DCOP). We had the chance to proudly celebrate and say thank you to the amazing men and women who have served in our country's military. It was a day full of thanks, learning, and real connections that left everyone feeling inspired. We are still riding the wave of pure joy from our annual Halloween celebration! This year, Rockland DCOP transformed the mall's community room into a festive haunted haven for a Halloween bash that was nothing short of an absolute BLAST. It was truly a joy to reconnect with Joe H., a bright light in our College Experience Program (CEP) since 2021. Joe’s enthusiasm for the program is infectious, and he truly cherishes his classes, finding them to be the most enriching part of his CEP journey. The Colonie Golf and Country Club course was buzzing with excitement on Friday, September 19. Golfers came from far and wide to golf in Living Resources’ 16th Annual Golf Tournament. The day began with breakfast and a heartfelt speech from a parent of a student in our College Experience Program. On Thursday, September 11 the Living Resources Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee hosted a fantastic potluck lunch to celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. The event was a fantastic way to honor the rich cultural traditions of Hispanic Americans. The potluck was a culinary journey filled with an impressive array of authentic Hispanic dishes and delectable desserts, all lovingly prepared by members of the DEI committee.
