Our Orange County Day Community Opportunities Program has been finding all sorts of ways to have fun in the winter months. They had a “far out” experience at the UFO and Paranormal Museum in Pine Bush, NY. Located southwest of New Paltz, the museum allowed the group to immerse themselves in the paranormal happenings of the Hudson Valley area, exploring the museum's UFO and Paranormal Galleries, and even taking advantage of the “Alien Abduction” photo-op station. “There are shortcuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them.” — Vicki Baum Our Brain Injury Program participants took a shortcut to happiness recently by holding their Annual Winter Ball. The day began at our Main Office in Albany where staff and participants did party preparations including cooking the meal- chicken parmigiana, meatballs, and sausage in homemade tomato sauce. Those who have birthdays in December know this story well- with all the rush and excitement of the holidays, people with December birthdays don’t seem to get the same energy for their birthday as those further removed from the holidays But Dubois’ friends wanted to let him know how special he is- that he has friends and support staff who care about him greatly, so they hatched a plan for a surprise party. Our Brain Injury Program is always down for a party and the winter holidays are no exception. They celebrated with music, food, dancing, and laughter. Oh and hats. Lots of great hats!

Living Resources' After School Program celebrated the Holiday season with their annual Holiday Party on December 14, complete with a visit from St. Nick himself! This year’s theme was Ugly Sweaters and all the students and staff wore their tackiest sweater to greet Santa.
