October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month and Living Resources is highlighting the many accomplishments of individuals supported through our Employment Services program. Let’s learn more about Megan and Ryan!

In April 2023, Megan started with Hoffman Car Wash (Hoffman’s) as an intern while attending Living Resources’ College Experience program. One month later, Megan was hired as an employee and has continued her career journey there post-graduation. After trying out various roles, she found her niche in vacuuming, cleaning is very rewarding.

Megan’s review of the workplace is glowing. She says, “The job is 100% good!” Her manager, Dennis, feels just as positive. He says Megan’s vibrant personality shines through and helps lift the spirits of everyone she works with.

Since 2018, Hoffman’s has partnered with Living Resources by providing internships and employment opportunities for at least half a dozen interns and employees. HR Recruiter Katie Riha describes the interns as hard-working and dependable. She appreciates the efforts of job coaches who keep the lines of communication open and help interns grow. On top of that, Katie feels that this diversity and inclusivity have made Hoffman’s managers better, providing opportunities for them to learn how to train people differently.

Ryan is a current College Experience student who recently started his internship at Hoffman’s. He loves cars and is very excited to see just what kinds might pull up for cleaning. He is proud to personally own a red Mustang!

“It’s been a great partnership and Living Resources puts on a great program. It gives them opportunities and guidance to enter the workplace,” says Katie about her team members, “I would recommend it to any business.”
