In celebration of 518 Day, a celebration of service, collaboration, and community empowerment within the greater Capital Region, Living Resources program directors and office staff traded their typical Friday activities for something a bit more hands-on. Armed with paint buckets and rollers, they rolled up their sleeves and embarked on painting projects at the main office and various residence houses throughout the region. This day was particularly meaningful to Darlene and Joe as it brought them back to the Albany residence where their Living Resources journeys began. Both eagerly requested this location, with Darlene, who now works in our [...]

A wave of pride filled the MVP Arena as our College Experience Program seniors, clad in caps and gowns, prepared to graduate alongside their peers at Russell Sage College. This milestone marks more than a ceremony, it is the culmination of years of determination, growth, and hard work. Throughout their journey, these students didn’t just meet academic goals, they built the skills necessary for independent living. From managing their own meals and navigating public transportation, to fostering friendships and making confident decisions, each challenge became a building block toward a more self-directed life. This year also marks a major [...]

On Thursday, May 15, thousands gathered at the Empire State Plaza in Albany for the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge race. These remarkable honorees continue to excel in their professions, embrace volunteer and board opportunities, stay active through fitness and travel and set new goals rather than settling into retirement. In addition to his work with Living Resources, serving as CEO for nearly 40 years, Fred has also been deeply involved in initiatives that strengthen the community. [...]

We recently caught up with our friends at Delafield, and they’ve been having a blast exploring nature, celebrating birthdays, mini-golfing, catching a few hockey games, and so much more! Jamie and the staff have been hitting the bike path regularly for some serious bird-watching—so much so that they made a special trip to L.L. Bean to grab a top-notch pair of binoculars. Now, they’re spotting and photographing more incredible birds and wildlife than ever—from majestic bald eagles to all kinds of small and large birds along the river. It has been the perfect way to get outside and enjoy early [...]
