Thanksgiving is a time for the three F’s: food, family, and friends. What better way to bring all three together than by hosting a ‘Friendsgiving’ celebration? That’s exactly what our folks at Oregon and Longmeadow houses did this past weekend! Individuals came together with their Living Resources family and friends to celebrate, and boy was it a party! There were crafts, LOTS of food, and the cherry on top was the wonderful individuals and staff who came together to make it happen.

Individuals at Oregon celebrated in style, making festive turkey hats to don for the occasion. The individuals put a lot of thought into their color combinations for their hats, and they were so colorful! Some wore their hat to dinner, while others simply kept it on the table for the celebration. When it was time for dinner, stomachs were ready for the challenge of a Thanksgiving meal. There was turkey, carrots, potatoes, gravy, refreshments, and we can’t forget the rolls! Staff and individuals came together to give thanks and share precious time together to celebrate the season. Thank you to all who came and celebrated with us!

None of this would have been possible without proper transportation for the individuals. Not having transportation for those in wheelchairs creates undue barriers during the holidays. Ensure that everyone has access to transportation by helping us buy a new van! Visit https://bit.ly/LRannualappeal2024 to make your contribution!
