Living Resources Companion Services

From simple companionship to help with cooking, light housekeeping or errands, the Living Resources Companion services are the perfect solution for those needing assistance with the daily tasks of living. We strive to provide compassionate and reliable home care with all of the qualities that you and your loved ones deserve; dedication, warmth, friendliness and respect. We are committed to enhancing our clients’ quality of life and maximizing their independence while preserving dignity, safety and well being. No matter how great or how small, Living Resources Companion Services can help with all of your in-home non-medical tasks.

Living Resources companion services are an integral part of our service provision. We recognize that certain aspects of life can become more challenging as we age. While many of the needs are related to medical conditions or symptoms, often the need for assistance with the activities of daily living are of just as great.

Companion services are intended for individuals who are able to maintain their own personal care but need assistance with other activities of daily living. It is a non-medical service.

A staff member will visit the client and/or family to establish a plan to meet the individual’s needs. Our exceptional service is flexible. We recognize that each client has their own unique needs, desires and goals. We aspire to provide dependable services built on the principles of compassion, honesty and dignity. Examples of our services include:

Personalized companionship and socialization
Planning and preparing nutritious meals
Shopping errands
Light housekeeping

Laundry, ironing, mending,
Transportation/Escorts to outings or appointments
Safety monitoring
Respite for caregivers

Our companions are carefully selected to provide the skills, care and dedication to meet your individual needs. The agency conducts a thorough background and reference check prior to hire and all employees are trained and supervised by professional staff to ensure satisfaction. Our companions are employees of our corporation and are insured and bonded. The person that we send to your home is someone that we would feel comfortable sending to visit our own Mom and Dad.

Should the need arise for personal care services, that can also be arranged through our licensed division.

Are your services limited to seniors?

No. We serve any age person with our individualized services.

What counties do you serve?

We serve Albany, Saratoga, Rensselaer, Schenectady and parts of Columbia and Greene counties.

Are your services available in retirement communities, assisted living facilities or nursing homes?

Yes. We provide support, companionship and transportation for residents of retirement communities, assisted living facilities and nursing homes. We also provide one on one support for persons who live in memory impairment communities and might need extra attention or reassurance.

What services do you offer?

Our services are designed to make life easier. Our companions can provide most services that are non-medical in nature. While services begin in the home, our care may continue in the community setting with outings, errands and transportation to appointments. Several of our companion services include: socialization, shopping, light housework, and laundry. We can assist with coordination of maid service, lawn care, minor home repairs and garbage collection.

How do we select our companions?

Living Resources has a rigorous employment selection process. We interview and screen each potential caregiver. Screening includes thorough background checks, review for any convictions, driving records, reference checks and previous employment verification. Our employees are also bonded, insured and monitored on an ongoing basis to ensure the highest quality of care and companionship are provided.

How many hours a day does Living Resources provide?

That is determined when we meet to assess your needs, tasks that you would like completed and times that you would like to receive your help. The number of hours and frequency that we provide services will be jointly determined. We provide from two hours to 24 hour per day in home companion support. You may use Living Resources as little or as often as you wish but there is a minimum two hour charge per visit.

How soon can you provide a companion for us?

Our goal is to provide a companion within 48 hours after a planning visit is made. We want to ensure that we fully assess your needs and provide the services that you are requesting.

Are your services affordable?

Living Resources wants to give you the finest care and services for the best price that we can. We are competitively priced and offer you the most excellent companions available. Living Resources can assist with coordination of billing to long term care and private insurances. (We cannot guarantee coverage by your individual insurance company as it is your policy that determines your coverage and associated charges.) We also accept personal payment.

How will my companion be selected?

During the in-home consultation, we’ll assess your situation and then work with you to jointly custom tailor a solution for you. With your wishes in mind, we will select and introduce you to a compatible visiting caregiver.
