A dream to provide quality art instruction to artists with disabilities came into
reality when the arts center opened its doors in the beginning of 1997. |
|
|
Located at 6A Cuyler Avenue in historic Albany, New York, the 1925 carriage house
provides a stimulating and imaginative setting. |
|
|
|
|
|
Classes take place throughout the week in this gem of a building.
They include: |

- Painting/drawing
- Jewelry making
- Ceramics
- Sculpture
- Fabric Making
- Poetry
- Photography
|

|
|
The students come and receive instruction by an exceptionally talented staff of highly
trained artists. |

|
|

We are working with students with multiple
disabilities:

|
- Mental Retardation
- Cerebral Palsy
- Autism
- Hearing Impairments
- Schizophrenia
- Acquired Brain Injury
|
|
|
|
Our teachers create specially designed classes that bring out self expression and
imagination for everyone. |
|
|
Through showcases, area art shows and prestigious achievement grants, our students'
work has been highly recognized. Sale of artwork provides monetary applause and a
great sense of self-worth for these talented students. |

A line of quality cards have been produced and are currently being carried at
galleries, art stores, and directly through Living Resources. |
|
|
Jewelry is also available through specialty stores and by contacting Living Resources
directly. |
